Well, we finally were able to take the camper out for the weekend! I must say, we had a great time! The weather Friday and Sunday was perfect, sun shining and all that jazz! Saturday was a different story… rain, rain, and more rain. We would of never made it in a tent!
We packed well though!
Let’s start with what I forgot or didn’t think of…
- sharp knife (I did bring one, but it was an old camping knife that was very dull)
- broom (I only brought a Swiffer)
- camping chairs
- toilet paper (that we could use in the trailer)
The First Supper!
Gourmet Grilled Cheese
- Whole Wheat bread
- Deli Ham
- Granny Apple (thinly sliced)
- Bacon slices (cooked)
- Garlic Salt
Thinly slice the brie and granny apples. Layer bread with brie, apples, cooked bacon, and ham. Butter each slice of bread well, and coat pan with a good amount of butter as well. Season each side with a dash of garlic & pepper salt. Cook until bread is crispy and cheese is melted.
I paired this meal with a Sauvignon Blanc… something light and crisp! Yum!
